For many, the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto was an institution and a place of worship. One of the oldest and smallest arenas in the National Hockey League it was a magnet for old and young alike. I attended most games during the 1995-1996 hockey season, but hardly ever stepped inside the Gardens.
